Technical Projects

UBC Structures Lab - Reinforced Masonry Shearwall Study (2014-2015)
Assisted a PHD student create and test Finite Element models of reinforced masonry shearwalls under seismic loading. Results were compared to seismic tests completed on actual walls. Outputs included: Finite element models in Sap2000 and Abaqus.

Fast + Epp Design Competition - Pedestrian Bridge Concept (2013, 2015, 2016)
Worked with a team of architecture and civil engineering masters students to create a preliminary pedestrian bridge design. Outputs included: 3D models of the bridge, preliminary Structural design and analysis.

Options Community Service Society - Natural Play Area Concept (2013)
Acted as project leader for a team designing a childrens play area. Coordinated between the team and our client, organized team scheduling, modeled structural components. Outputs included: a 3D model of the concept using Trimble Sketchup, renderings of the model using Vray, and a cost estimate for the construction of the project.

North Shore Emergency Management Office - Rapid Damage Assessment (2012)
Lead a student team to help develop a Rapid Damage Assessment program for Vancouver communities. Coordinated between the team and our client. Outputs included: a technical report outlining how communities could quickly evaluate damage to buildings post-disaster.
